Commonwealth Games, Brisbane , 1982
QEM
has the two electric vehicles that were used in the Commonwealth
Games when the event was held in Brisbane in 1982!
The South East Queensland
Electricity Board's electric Daihatsu Charade led the field
at the start of the 30 k road walk on 7 October 1982. The
Lucas 1-Tonne Bedford Electric Van was used as a service vehicle
for the marathon.
In
June 2006, we will launch a ‘virtual exhibition' on this website
related to our electric vehicles. The exhibition will be called
Wheels of Power so watch out for it.
